1968 Mustang Eleanor Tribute

What is an “Eleanor”? She’s the Star Car character from Denice Halicki’s 2000 movie “Gone in 60 Seconds,” which was a remake of the H.B. Halicki’s 1974 movie “Gone in Sixty Seconds” starring Eleanor. This is a just completed build of a rare automatic and ‘Red’ color “Official Licensed Gone in 60 Seconds Eleanor Tribute” by the renown BNMC of Tulsa, OK. This all-new, all-metal built-from-scratch vehicle is not a kit car, clone or replica. This is a real Ford Mustang titled and registered as such. As a tribute to one of the most beloved car movies of all time it was built with no expense spared to suit it’s owner and is therefore to be considered a “bespoke” or tailored one off example built exclusively to personal specifications. It features the Official Licensed “Gone in 60 Seconds” modern coilover suspension and Ford Motor Company licensed body from ‘R3 Performance Products’.

Sporting an R3 Performance Products body finished in red (none of the movie Eleanors used this color), the rebuild comes with several elements meant to make it look close to the movie star car: deep chin spoiler, driving lights, a raised hood, body-color side pipes and wheel arches, and color-matching bumpers.

It is powered by a 427ci (7.0L) Ford FE Cobra Jet big-block V8, producing in excess of 500hp, coupled to a four-speed manual gearbox.

Swing the doors and you’ll find a fully restored cockpit that’s been updated with a perfect amount of style and convenience. Front and center, TMI-branded buckets boast big bolsters under a thick roll bar that’s strung with 3-point shoulder belts. A factory-spec dash hangs upgraded audio over a Sunpro water gauge, a Sunpro Super Tach II and Cobra-themed foot pedals. Fresh carpet floats Mustang-themed floor mats around a polished fire extinguisher and an attractive B&M QuickSilver shifter. The driver carves curves through a polished and wood-rimmed steering wheel.

When it comes to maximizing the amount of metal your money buys, you simply can’t go wrong with a purpose-built pony car. Thanks to its thorough restoration, this legendary Ford is a great driving piece that’s fun, historic AND reliable. If you’re looking for a stylish classic that commands respect on both the boulevard and the show field, this red-hot Mustang is just your style!
