1934 Pontiac Coupe

The Pontiac line for 1934 featured larger Fisher bodies as compared with the previous year, along with a completely new chassis riding on a 117″ wheelbase. The big news this year was the new “knee-action” independent front suspension of the Dubonnet type. The Dubonnet system was completely self-contained with the coil spring and double acting shock absorber carried in an oil-filled housing.

Painted a 2002 Cadillac Escalade Red Fire Metallic that is slick and beautiful.  The grill, front and rear bumpers, head light trim, fender lights, hood sides, radiator cover Indian, dual outside mirrors, door handles, rumble seat handles, rumble seat step pads, tail light trim, running board rubber, all the glass, rubber, hood handles are all like new.  Disc brakes in front, 9″ Ford rear end with drum brakes and leaf springs.  Pontiac luggage rack mounted in rear.  One Classy Ride and a real attention getter.

223 cid inline eight-cylinder engine, 84 HP, automatic transmission, semi-elliptic leaf spring suspension, drum brakes; wheelbase: The Pontiac line for 1934 featured all-new larger Fisher bodies as compared with the previous year, along with a completely new chassis riding on a 117-inch wheelbase.

Inside is more of the beautifully restored ’30s extravagance. The Cream cloth seat look nicely restored with a plush button-top presentation. You have the large classic-style steering wheel with Pontiac center cap, floor shifter, and full gauge package. So this one delivers a terrific classic car experience. The roll down rear window is a nice way to really get ventilation moving through this coupe. Of course, that feature also helps you talk to anyone you might have in the back, too. The rumble seat is finished in a durable gray vinyl, so it makes for an ideal outside seat.

This hot rod looks just fab and it fired right up, sounded great, and took off with vigor to the test track. Here it has nice smooth acceleration, smooth shifting, and good braking with the power front discs. No rattles or squeaks, and all was functioning on the control front including the AC blowing nice and cold. The seats are like your recliner at home, so beware of falling asleep while driving!
