1986 Ford C8000 Fire Truck

This 1986 Ford C8000 is a fire truck that was built by Grumman Emergency Products as an FC-1000 model and was used by the Bowman’s Addition Volunteer Fire Department in Allegany County, Maryland.

It is powered by a 10.4-liter turbodiesel V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed rear axle.

Emergency equipment includes water hoses, Waterous water pumps, emergency lights and sirens, a Winco generator, electrical power outlets, open rear jump seats, a central control panel, and a loudspeaker.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an 85-mph speedometer, a 3,500 rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for air pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and oil pressure.

The truck is finished in red and white with diamond-plated panels and gold Bowman’s Addition V.F.D. decals. Equipment includes emergency lights and sirens, loudspeakers, Waterous water pumps and hoses, water connections, a control panel, open rear jump seats behind the cab, side steps, grab handles, storage compartments, and mud flaps. LED lights were added below the red beacon lights.

Red 20″ wheels are wrapped in Goodyear G287 MSA tires up front, while the dually rear wheels wear Goodyear G177 tires. The tires were reportedly mounted in 2021. The truck is equipped with automatic rear tire chains that can be activated by a dash-mounted switch.
