2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie
The Aston Martin Valkyrie (also known by its code-names as AM-RB 001 and Nebula) is a limited production hybrid sports car collaboratively built by British automobile manufacturers Aston Martin, Red Bull Racing Advanced Technologies and several others.
Aston Martin is a British brand that’s synonymous with opulence, but this automaker has never had a hypercar to call its own. That changes with the launch of the Valkyrie, an aerodynamic, performance-themed speed demon that holds the distinction of being Aston Martin’s first entry in the hypercar war. Aston’s vehicles are typically marked by their elegant, somewhat restrained design, but the Valkyrie blazes a fresh path with its over-the-top styling. This is the type of car that looks like it would be right at home on a future-world racetrack or in the next Transformers movie. The Valkyrie’s hybrid powertrain produces a staggering 1160 horsepower. Pricing starts at $3 million, and production is extremely limited.
Aston’s goal was simple—to create a hypercar that stands as the ultimate expression of performance. The Valkyrie is exactly that, and then some.
It’s not every day that you encounter a car that breaks the mold, but the 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro specs raise the bar for all hypercars to follow. Designed around the street-legal Valkyrie, the track-only AMR Pro was originally built for the legendary 24 Hours of Le Man competition. However, the design team ultimately scrapped all conventions and built the ultimate powerhouse without constraints. The resulting ride is unfathomably fast, powerful, and even overwhelming to the senses—and there’s simply nothing like it on the Jupiter roads.
Powering the 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie is an innovative and significant hybrid powertrain. Led by the 6.5L V-12 engine that cranks out an astounding 1000 horsepower, the supplementary electric motor adds an extra 160 horsepower. Therefore, the driver of the Valkyrie will be in control of 1160 horsepower backed by the precise seven-speed automatic transmission that handles all the work. The AMR Pro features all the same components as the base model, but Aston Martin has reconfigured the output potential of the hypercar to make it excel even more on the racetrack.
The interior has no gauge cluster, but rather a collection of screens. By the left and right corners are the screens for the camera side mirrors. One screen sits at the top of the centre console. A screen is used on the race-inspired removable steering wheel and acts as the driver gauge cluster. Dials and switches sit beside the wheel screen to allow for easier changes without driving interruption. The carbon fibre seats are bucket variants and the first owner is given the choice of both race and conventional seat belts for each seat.
A completely new vehicle, the Valkyrie joins the Aston Martin arrangement for the 2022 model year. It takes its name from old Norse folklore, the valkyries being the spirits who determined the destinies of men in fight. This hypercar is brought into the world from an association between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing.
There has arguably never been an Aston Martin so extreme and so hotly anticipated as the Valkyrie, the intense road car that is the result of a partnership with Red Bull Racing. We were finally shown the first verification prototype at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, which means that the Valkyrie is achingly close to being production-ready.
