2000 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Supercharged
When Ford and Harley-Davidson decided to produce an F-150 pickup, it seemed like a logical idea. What a great way to celebrate two American icons! Equipped with acres of black paint and leather and adorned with several custom F-150/HD badges, specialized trim, and just enough brightwork to remind people it’s a truck that’s been decorated and dressed up by a motorcycle company. Cool. Then Saleen and Ford said, “Y’know, this thing could be faster,” and they bolted a supercharger on top of the already capable 5.4L V8 engine – not exactly tuned to be a Lightning, but it gives a little more pep without being hyper. Very cool.
The look of this distinctive pickup captured the imagination of automotive enthusiasts across North America – including former “Tonight Show” host and self-proclaimed “gearhead” Jay Leno, who became customer number one for the Canadian-made Harley-Davidson F-150 truck. A truly unique one-of-one truck, Leno’s Harley-Davidson F-150 is the only 2000 model that features the SVT Lighting powertrain.
Equipped with a 5.4-liter, supercharged Triton V8 engine, this truck cranks out approximately 360hp and 440 ft/lbs of torque. Additionally, the truck was lowered 1″ with revised springs and heavy-duty sway bars, adding to the vehicle’s brawny appearance.
Other interior features include ebony black leather-trimmed captain’s chairs with embossed Harley-Davidson logo, chrome steering column stalks and door release hardware, and black leather-wrapped trim and steering wheel. Outside, the Harley-Davidson F-150 is a black, monochromatic 4×2 SuperCab pickup with a flareside box topped by a hard-shell tonneau cover. Design engineers specially tuned the single-inlet/dual-outlet exhaust to give it a more “robust” aural signature. Ford and Harley-Davidson badges adorn the front fenders and a lower front valence encompasses built-in driving lamps. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, speed control, tilt steering wheel, remote keyless entry, privacy glass, power windows/locks/driver’s seat, overhead console with temperature and compass, and AM-FM stereo with single CD player.
The reported miles are lower than average, and honestly, a bit hard to find. Most have near or over 100k miles, while a sizeable piece of the market shows less than 5k miles on them. This polarization of miles means those right in the middle are a little hard to find – and that’s where this one is. Nicely, this truck is priced seemingly fair market and right where we would like a H-D F-150 to be, and in fact, we wonder if it might even be a little bit well bought because of the overall condition and supercharger option. Either way, we think the next caretaker will feel pretty good about bringing this one home.
