1973 Pontiac GTO Coupe
Beautiful, interesting, and extremely rare. Few people even knew that Pontiac made a handful of GTOs in 1973, and most of them had the smaller 400ci V8 engine bored .060 and backed by an M22 4-speed manual transmission. It one only gets better as this numbers-matching motor has been mated to a four-speed manual – something the factory never had the guts to do!
Refinished in maroon 20 years ago, this GTO with the Colonnade body style features a tachometer on the vented GTO-only hood, a 1971 GTO trunk-mounted spoiler, quarter window louvers, dual headlights, a split black grille, and chrome front and rear bumpers. A video of the car can be seen in the carousel to the right.
Interior equipment includes white vinyl front bucket seats with a matching rear bench seat, interior door panels, and headliner as well as woodgrain accents and a tilt steering column topped with a 3-spoke Pontiac sport wheel. The center console houses a 4-speed Hurst Super Shifter.
This is a one year only GTO, which makes this Goat more of a unicorn. So if you’re not quick enough to snatch up this rare Pontiac you’ll have as much proof it exists as, well, a unicorn.
