1973 Pontiac Grand Ville Convertible

This 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville was first delivered to Hatfield Pontiac-Cadillac in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and is one of 4,447 convertibles produced for the model year.

Grand Ville convertibles were rare in the years from 1971 to 1975, never topping 5,000 per year during the model run. From 1973 to 1975 the Grand Ville was Pontiac’s only full-size convertible offering

The Pontiac Grand Ville Convertible is a rear wheel drive vehicle, with the engine placed in the front, and a 2 door convertible/cabriolet body. Powering the Pontiac Grand Ville Convertible is an overhead valve, 7.5 litre naturally aspirated 8 cylinder powerplant, with 2 valves per cylinder that develops power and torque figures of 250 bhp (253 PS/186 kW) at 4000 rpm and 502 N·m (370 lb·ft/51.2 kgm) at 2800 rpm respectively. This power is supplied to the wheels by means of a 3 speed automatic gearbox.

Sitting in the grass, facing the highway, she was experiencing a definite worry she had not really experienced before.  Perhaps it was age induced, as some girls tend to have diminished physical charms after a point; she was hoping her new suitor would realize the true charm and beauty that only comes with age.

The interior includes bench seats upholstered in coral vinyl with matching door panels, and the dashboard is trimmed in coral with simulated wood accents. Equipment includes a tilting Deluxe steering wheel and power windows, and a Clarion CD stereo and a battery cut-off switch are fitted.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge.

Beauty comes from within, as exterior beauty fades like the morning dew.  Inner beauty is the marathon runner to the sprint that is exterior beauty.

She started to gaze out at the anonymous cars on the highway.  All such blandness in blobbish packages, with few possessing any scintilla of personality.  Her gaze then turned to a smug grin, knowing how very few of the cars she was observing would make it to twenty years of age unscathed, let alone forty.  How few would see the tenures of eight United States presidents.  How so few would be exposed to the cultural changes that only four decades can bring about.  How so very few would be viewed as something unique and special, not just a transportation appliance. And this is Pontiac Grand Ville Convertible.
