1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442

The Oldsmobile 4-4-2 (also known as the 442) is a muscle car produced by Oldsmobile between the 1964 and 1987 model years. Introduced as an option package for US-sold F-85 and Cutlass models, it became a model in its own right from 1968 to 1971, spawned the Hurst/Olds in 1968, then reverted to an option through the mid-1970s. The name was revived in the 1980s on the rear-wheel drive Cutlass Supreme and early 1990s as an option package for the new front-wheel drive Cutlass Calais.

This 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 equipped with a stately 800 PS strong V8 and a small walkaround also takes place. And the significantly modified GM LSA-V8 is of course the absolute highlight of the conversion. It originally comes from a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (2012 to 2015) and was also used in the Cadillac CTS-V (2008 to 2013) as a turbocharged version with a displacement of 6,2 liters and a compressor. The engine was also known as the “Crate engine“Offered with the performance of 564 PS & 747 Nm torque known from the aforementioned CTS-V.

Inside the car are black Strato-bucket swivel seats constructed out of full foam in the front and back and also feature a console. The black interior appears to be a mixture of good-quality original parts and new items. The door panels and other hard plastics are in great shape, though some areas (such as the steering column around the key cylinder) show some normal wear.

At the time when Oldsmobile put a padlock on its doors, it was America’s oldest automobile brand. Although younger generations may not be that familiar with this iconic manufacturer, most car fans remember and cherish the vehicles that came from its production tracks.
