1971 Ford Torino GT Convertible

Rarity is always going to be a subject that ignites debate in the classic car world. Only 1,613 Torino Convertible GTs were manufactured in 1971. Take this 1971 Torino GT Convertible as an example.

Here is a verified factory GT with a power convertible top. Restored in Grabber Green with white bucket seat interior, white power top with glass backlight, a rim blow steering wheel, side laser stripes, front spoiler and chrome Magnum 500 wheels.

The 302ci Cleveland V8 have been rebuilt and is topped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and Shaker scoop that was added during the refurbishment. Power is sent rearward via a three-speed C6 automatic transmission and a Traction-Loc rear end equipped with 3.25:1 gearing.

With Summer fast drawing to a close, logic says that now would not be the right time to splash the cash on a classic convertible. However, this 1971 Torino GT could be the right car at the right time, which would explain why the bidding has been spirited.
