1969 Chevrolet C10 Pickup
General Motors originally created the Chevrolet and GMC C/K series as nothing more than a workhorse, but the second-generation revision brought not only the “Action Line” tag but also a host of creature comforts. Surely, though, what could have been considered top of the line back in ‘69 now usually passes as obsolete. Not with this truck, though.
This 1969 Chevrolet C10 is a regular-cab short-bed pickup that is powered by a replacement 327ci V8 paired with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include red and white paint, black vinyl upholstery, air conditioning, power front disc brakes, power steering, a dual exhaust system, an Edelbrock intake, chrome bumpers, and a Custom Autosound audio system.
Silver 15″ Rally-style wheels wear polished trim rings and are mounted with 235/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires all around. The power-assisted front disc brakes were reportedly serviced with a replacement booster in 2021, and the truck is fitted with power steering.
The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in black patterned black vinyl along with matching door panels and carpets. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, aftermarket kick-panel speakers, a factory Delco radio, a Custom Autosound stereo system, a floor-mounted console with cup holders, and Summit Racing auxiliary gauges. A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge.
The replacement 327ci V8 breathes through a chrome open-element air cleaner and an Edelbrock intake.
When it comes to performance, durability and sheer Americana, nothing beats a good old GM workhorse. And thanks to a fresh, high quality restoration, this stunning C10 wraps a hot drivetrain in a highly capable chassis and crisp, clean aesthetics. Seldom do you find a well-done, traditional classic that’s infused with this much hot rod swagger.
The truck hails from an era when work trucks were designed to do work—and little else. The C10 platform has always been a favorite for backyard builders thanks to its clean style from the factory, plus a huge range of aftermarket parts. But few builds have ever approached the level of this one.
