1968 Ford Mustang Fastback

The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobiles known as the pony cars. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition.

The 1968 Ford Mustang again arrived on the scene with a great deal of hype, Ford suggested that it was “the most exciting car on the American road” and it was the “Great original”.

This 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback is one of 1,020 fastback examples produced for the model year. The standard engine in the Revology Mustang for both automatic and manual transmission is the Ford GEN 3 5.0 L Ti-VCT “Coyote” DOHC V8, rated at 460HP.

Inside, the Interior Décor Group adds Comfortweave inserts on the black vinyl seats and classic  dashboard, door panels, and a center console. A roll bar with inertia-reel seatbelts was standard equipment in Shelby Mustangs.

The 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback has since been showcased at many car shows around America and more recently at the Goodwood revival on the south coast of England, United Kingdom, which is only 40 miles from factory near Henfield.

It was amazing see close hand one of the most iconic muscle cars Mustangs ever produced.

This iconic Mustang obviously helped drive Ford sales, but not only in 1968 but to this very day as who wouldn’t want to be likened to the very “King of Cool” Mr Steve McQueen!
