1967 Mustang Fastback WRX Running Gear
Exactly 472,121 examples of the Ford Mustang were sold in 1967 and this is hugely impressive given the sports car’s current results. Sure, the pony market is not what it used to be, but almost half a million Mustangs in a single year remains one of the model’s highest achievements in its entire history. Of those cars, 71,042 units were Mustang Fastbacks, which represented approximately 15 percent of the total deliveries during that year.
A 430-inch Windsor motor with 9-inch rear end and a spool, was used. The horsepower of the motor was brought closer to “500 horsepower” as a result. Two duplicate Mustangs using the aforementioned motor were built.
Standard features include a power rack-and-pinion steering conversion, coilover suspension, oversized sway bars, Wilwood brakes, 17-inch American Racing forged wheels with Michelin high-performance Z-rated tyres, Carroll Shelby signature seats, gauges, console and floor mats, Deluxe 1967 dash and door panels and air-conditioning.
An absolutely amazing car, that attracts huge attention every time you drive it, and which will only continue to appreciate in value over the coming months/ years.
