1967 Imperial Crown “Mobile Director”

This 1967 Imperial Crown coupe is one of only 81 optioned with the Mobile Director package, which in addition to incorporating an interior table and lamp, allowed the front passenger seat to swivel 180 degrees to allow for a sort of portable board room.
1967 was the first year that Imperial cars shared unibody construction employed by other full size Chrysler vehicles. and as such, this one has a lower slung ride than its predecessors. Panels looks to be straight, and the pillarless greenhouse and angular body design make for a fantastic combination.
Power comes from a 440 V8 which sent 350 gross HP worth of motivation to the rear wheels through a 3-speed TorqueFlite A727 automatic.
The Mobile Director option was a result of the 1966 Imperial show car named “Mobile Office”.
This is a very rare automobile as it is one of only 81 built in 1967. 70 were built in 1968 and then the option was no longer offered.
The interior picture shows the car in “secretarial mode”.
