1966 Chevrolet Nova SS

The Chevrolet Chevy II/Nova is a small automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, and produced in five generations for the 1962 through 1979, and 1985 through 1988 model years. Nova was the top model in the Chevy II lineup through 1968. The Chevy II nameplate was dropped after 1968, with Nova becoming the nameplate for all of the 1969 through 1979 models.

In 1966, only 5,481 Chevrolet Nova SS equipped cars were produced. 3,547 were Chevy II SS and even fewer had the red paint with red interior. This factory-correct Chevy II SS features its original matching-numbers drivetrain including the L79 327/350hp engine, Muncie 4-speed transmission and rare BQ-coded 3:31 posi-traction12-bolt rear.

The inside of Nova is as nice as the outside with its SS options including a red twin bucket seat interior that was both simple and functional and is in perfect condition.

While bucket seats and a center console were an option in the Chevelle SS by ’67, they were standard fare in the Nova SS with the matching rear seat along with the black dash, factory gauges, radio delete plate, wood red steering wheel, matching door panels, floor mats, and a factory center console with the chrome 4-speed shifter.

The Chevrolet Nova was that car which was designed to just get in a drive off without any hassle. It played a big part in the compact car market over its lifetime and gave the world a Sixties classic in the form of the Chevrolet Nova Super sport. Available with only a 2-door coupe design trim you got a whole lot of looks as well as one fairly reliable car to hoon around in.
