1962 Ford Falcon Custom
This tribute to the Holman Moody/Ford Motor Company road race project “Challenger” was built by one of the original Holman Moody fabricators, Ken Thompson.
It features all handmade body panels including aluminum doors, hood and rear deck. Under the hood is a 60s vintage Ford 4-cam Indy car engine with the addition of a 100mm turbo. The builder claims it is capable of 11,000+rpm and 250mph.
Moving into the interior the car was stripped down to the bones. With only the necessities left – consisting of the gauges, steering wheel, seats, dash, start switches, a custom built roll cage, and the shifter. Built with very basic comfort, this ride is ready to perform on or off track.
What would you pay for a 1962 Ford Falcon sporting an Indy Car Engine? The Indy car engine ran for many years at the Indy Brickyard. Ford Motor Company set out with the mission to launch the Ford Indianapolis racing project with a goal to enhance their image in the performance market.
