1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible
The Chevrolet Bel Air is a full-size car produced by Chevrolet for the 1950–1975 model years. Initially, only the two-door hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952. With the 1953 model year, the Bel Air name was changed from a designation for a unique body shape to a premium level of trim applied across a number of body styles. The Bel Air continued with various other trim level designations, and it went from a mid-level trim car to a budget fleet sedan when U.S. production ceased in 1975. Production continued in Canada, for its home market only, through the 1981 model year.
This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was restored and finished in a very rare color Tropical Turquoise. This Bel Air is equipped with a lot of options and accessories, including the dual-quad 283 CI V-8 engine good for 245 HP.
Chevrolet produced 47,000 Bel Air convertibles in the 1957 model year, but very few would have been as lavishly equipped with dealer and factory options and accessories as this example. Awarded highest honors by the Antique Automobile Club of America, this car was originally built in GM’s Los Angeles, California, assembly plant.
The trunk compartment of this example was beautifully restored including the fading into Tropical Turquoise under the factory style rubber trunk mat. It’s equipped with a full size tire and jack tools.
The interior appearance is also simply breathtaking with the famous Bel Air signature turquoise-and-green interior scheme with chrome accents. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced during the restoration such as the painted dash, gauges, radio, steering wheel, door panels, door hardware, seats, pedals and carpeting.
