1954 Ford F-100
The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford since the 1948 model year. Slotted above the Ford Ranger in the Ford truck model range, the F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks. Alongside the F-150 (introduced in 1975), the F-Series also includes the Super Duty series (introduced in 1999), which includes the heavier-duty F-250 through F-450 pickups, F-450/F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600/F-650/F-750 Class 6-8 commercial trucks. The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its 14th generation. From 1953 to 1985, the entry-level F-series pickup was the ½ ton F-100.
Even if the F-100 is an old and classic Ford pickup truck, the mods made on it can transform it into a perfect and beautiful ride.
Power for the Blue Oval came dressed in a Bowtie! The Chevrolet 350 V-8 under the hood was bartered from a customer who needed a stripped Camaro. Gene and Reggie did the work and got to keep the motor. Yes, it’s a Chevy in a Ford but a free engine is certainly easy on the budget. The swap was also fairly easy, requiring only repositioned engine mounts and a modified crossmember to make it fit. The 350 is equipped with a mild Voodoo cam and a 750 Holley carb and intake. It uses custom headers and MagnaFlow mufflers to feed side exhausts exiting through the running boards.
The one-off custom leather interior features dual 6-way power seats, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, Dakota Digital VHX instrument cluster, tilt steering with Bajo-style billet steering wheel and a premium sound system.
The F series truck by Ford is nothing short of legendary; they serve many purposes and do what they are supposed to with that Ford standard of reliability. Each generation lived up to its time and set the tone for what was to come. To understand the success of the F series truck, one must go back in time; while this sounds impossible.
