1950 Lincoln 6-Passenger Coupe
The Lincoln range featuring ’rounded’ styling were Lincoln’s first truly post-WWII cars. The aerodynamic hood ornament and recessed ‘French-stylised’ headlights were unique design features that later became popular with hotrodders and known as ‘Frenching’.
This 1950 Lincoln coupe is a six-passenger example finished in blue and gray over beige upholstery and powered by a 337ci flathead v8 paired with a GM TH350 three-speed automatic transmission.
Red 15″ steel wheels wear chrome covers and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall tires. A spare wheel is mounted in the trunk.
The cabin features bench seats upholstered in beige patterned cloth with contrasting piping joined by matching door panels and carpets. Chrome trim accents the body-colored metal dashboard and equipment includes a cabin heater, vent windows, a locking glovebox, a rear armrest, and manual windows. A Custom Autosound AM/FM/MP3 stereo is located below the dash, and a trunk-mounted CD changer is installed. The factory push-button AM radio does not work. The four-spoke Victor steering wheel is mounted to an aftermarket tilt steering column and frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, amperage, and oil pressure.
Beautifully built and highly traditional, this dare-to-be-different lead sled delivers all the familiar styling cues with a big Lincoln attitude that will put all the Mercurys back on the trailer.
