1950 Ford Custom Coupe
The 1950 Ford Custom coupe certainly lives up to the “custom” part of its name with the vibrant paint, an A/C interior, and the versatility of a five-speed controlling the flathead V8.
Always being a fan of seeing a Ford in a Ford, he located a 1968 Ford 302ci V-8 to fill the ‘rails and got started freshening it up with his friends. The block was filled with a factory cast-iron crank linked to matching forged steel rods wearing cast aluminum pistons getting a beat from a COMP Cams stick. The original cylinder heads were warmed over for plenty of seamless power and capped with classic Cal Custom finned aluminum valve covers.
Interior done by the award winning Recovery Room interiors featuring black leather with basket weave suede seat inserts and ultra-suede headliner in cockpit and trunk, power heated seats, power windows, custom center console, polished Flaming River steering column, Billet Specialties steering wheel, Autometer gauges.
Bullet-nose Fords are now true icons of the era, and the coupes have an especially nice silhouette. The black paint is a cool color that is absolutely a 1950s kind of style, but with a vibrant look that also likes to get noticed in modern times. And that seems to set the overall tone right for this car. There are some people who might want to make improvements to the finish, and the value price leaves room in your budget for that. But what this one is really about is delivering a true cruiser style that’s not afraid of the streets.
