1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe
Here is a post war 1948 Plymouth Special De Luxe that is in very nice condition. This classic underwent a full restoration in the early 90’s and still remains in great shape today. The transmission is a 3 speed manual on the column with a overdrive that was added for driving convenience. The paint has remained in great shape, has a nice luster to it and shows well. The interior was also restored and remains in great condition with no rips or tears and a great stock dash. The car is riding on newer Michelin radial tires with plenty of tread life left.
95 bhp, 217.8 cu. in. L-head inline six-cylinder engine, three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, independent front and solid axle rear suspension, and four-wheel drum brakes. Wheelbase: 117 in.
The Special DeLuxe Convertible offered here is believed to be a longtime California car and was purchased by its present owner in that state. Finished in Charlotte Ivory, it has been fitted in its current ownership with a new red leather interior, an upgrade over the original interior, and a new cloth top and trunk liner. In keeping with the Plymouth’s relatively economical status, it has few accessories other than an AM radio, a heater, overdrive, and wide whitewall tires.
The car has been subtly “stanced” with lowered front suspension, giving it a much more aggressive appearance that conceals its stock mechanical specifications and gives it a menacing, street rod-like appearance.
The owner seeking an interesting Plymouth for open-air summer fun need look no further!
