1946 Hudson Super Six Pickup
The Hudson company was named after Joseph L. Hudson, a wealthy Detroit businessman and founder of the Hudson Motor Car Company. During the 1920’s the company built a reputation for their reliable Six and Super Six models.
Hudson was known for a number of firsts for the auto industry. This included dual brakes, the use of dashboard oil-pressure and generator warning lights and the first balanced crankshaft.

The interior is upholstered in tan leather and is also fitted with a Hudson heater, modern air conditioning and cruise control. A 12-volt conversion has been performed during the restoration. The wheels are colored-coded to the body and have chrome factory hubcaps which are fitted with radial tires. The spare is mounted in the bed, parallel to the back of the cab.
Of the 95,000 vehicles produced by Hudson in 1946, only three-percent were pickup trucks. The 1946 Hudson truck model was formally called a Series 58 Commercial with a 128-inch wheelbase, weighing 3,500 pounds and when new, costing $1,522 with only 3,374 reported as built.
This truck is nicely suited for load carrying applications, while its eye-catching design made it unusually attractive in light-duty commercial or recreational use. Its rarity and unusually attractive design will attract positive attention around town or during your next trip to the lumber yard.
