1946 Buick Super Eight Convertible

The Buick Super is a full-sized automobile produced from the 1940 through the 1958 model years (excluding WW II). It was built on Buick’s larger body shared with the Roadmaster and was replaced by the Riviera in 1964.

This 1946 Buick Super 8 Convertible that was disassembled and rebuilt to unique custom specifications for the specific purpose of Show, Winter 2002-2003 it won sweepstake trophies in each of the four principal West Coast Autorama’s. Also Sam Barris award , Gene Winfield Award. Super 46 is Candy Apple Red with Cream Italian leather. Top is chopped one inch and is completely operational, 1400 watt 10 speaker surround sound with DVD, custom wood grain dash, 4-wheel disc brakes, 454 Chevy with 671 blower – turbo 400 transmission, 9 inch Ford with 350 posi wheels 20″ with hand made caps.

 

The mid-range Super was, by far and away, Buick’s best seller in 1946, responsible for nearly 77% of annual sales. It combined the power plant from the Special and the body from the Roadmaster. The same size as the Specials, the Supers could also be ordered as a long wheelbase at 124″, providing additional interior legroom.
