1941 Dodge WD21
In 1939 Dodge presented a completely new designed line of pickups and trucks. Formally the T series for 1939, V series for 1940, and the W series from 1941 through 1947, the trucks became mostly known as the Dodge Job-Rated trucks.
Dodge began producing what would become some of the most important pickups in the world. These vehicles were robustly engineered and segued into Dodge’s first light-duty military 4-wheel drives, the 1940 Dodge VC Series trucks that begot the world’s first factory-produced 4-wheel drive pickups: the Dodge Power Wagon. Interestingly, too, Dodge would be the first of the Big Three to offer a diesel-powered pickup truck, which made perfect sense since Chrysler designed and built its own heavy-duty diesel engines in-house.
This truck shows well, with factory-correct two-tone black and red paint over an original-style black vinyl interior. The basic down-to-business interior is trimmed with simple factory-original heavy grain vinyl on the seat. The headliner and interior panels are correctly done in black cowlboard. The basic dash features original instruments and controls, all showing in excellent condition.
