1939 Delahaye USA Pacific V12
After four years of work, Delahaye USA of Long Valley, NJ is presenting the “Pacific”, their carbon fiber and fiberglass bodied tribute to Ralph Lauren’s fabled 40 million dollar Type 57sc 1938 Bugatti Atlantic.
A fuel-injected 4,988 cc (304 cubic inch) BMW 12-cylinder motor mated to an electronically controlled four-speed BMW automatic transmission provides power to the Pacific.
Designed with a ten inch longer 127-inch wheelbase, the car can comfortably fit a 6 foot 11 inch tall NBA player with big shoulders! This first Pacific is powered by an aluminum fuel-injected 304 cubic inch twelve cylinder BMW M70B50 SOHC. Transmission is a BMW 4HP24 EH four-speed automatic with electronic control. The car has power windows and AC.
The doors, dashboard and remainder of the interior are trimmed in supple hide and Mercedes Benz-quality carpeting. Power windows, brakes, steering and air conditioning are standard.
Built by Gary Brown of Port Leyden, NY, he painted the car with House of Kolor’s new 52BC25 JET BLACK. The Dayton wire wheels are shod with Excelsior tires. The car is equipped with power windows and air-conditioning. This piece of rolling sculpture presents classic pre-war styling emulating one of the most beautiful cars in history, but is mounted on a chassis with all the conveniences of a modern drivetrain.
